 WHAT IS OPEN CDC AND HOW MANY MONTHS SAILING REQUIRED TO TAKE WATCHKEEPING ON OPEN CDC 

Every Seafarers confuse in this matter that's what's open CDC and how we can become captain, if we are open CDC holder, and how many days experience need to take indian watchkeeping etc. These type questions comes every open CDC holder candidate and other fresher who want to join Merchant Navy with open CDC.

1.Questions first what's is open CDC 

If your Qualifications is  minimum 10 th pass and having indian passport then you can't take it easily. Just search a Marine institute who is located nearby your location ( suppose that if you're from Uttar Pradesh West part then delhi is nearby locations for you and in Delhi Sri Ram marine institute is good and Dg approved verify and trusted Institute) 

Note:- Always Go in Dg approved Institute

Go in institute and take admission for stcw cource this program is 15 to 20 days duration 

When you complete this course program you will be get 5 to 7 certificate 

STCW  ( STANDARD S OF TRAINING CERTIFICATION AND WATCHKEEPING) IT came into force in 1978 As Government agreed to standardise training around the world. STCW Basic Safety Training, as it is known today is required by all Seafarers who are working onboard commercial ships or Superyachts.

 

2.After getting stcw certificate how we can apply for indian  CDC 

Where you finished your course that institute will apply for CDC . After apply this will take time to come at your home around 2 month by Speed Post.

This called open CDC ( without any Additional Marine cource like Gp rating and DNS, Bsc. Nautical Science) Hope you will be understand .

3.How many months sailing required for apply Watchkeeping.

This biggest problem of every seafarer they don't know about this how we can take it.

If you're frome deck side like tr.os or Os (lowest rank in Deck Department) You need to Complete 15 To 18 Month Sea service and According to present Dg Shipping Rule.

Same For Engine Side Candidate (wiper, tr.wiper) Need 15/18 month sea service.

And Complete Your TAR BOOK  for apply INDIAN WATCHKEEPING.

4. How we can become OFFICER with open CDC.

To become OFFICER In Merchant Navy with open CDC you need to complete 42 Month Sea service On board . Then you can apply for Third Mate Coc (THIRD OFFICER) 

BUT According to Some information who we collect some experience officer and captain , that you're not capable to take INDIAN COC. You just can apply for other like that Panama Coc, New Zealand Coc, UK Coc, Australia Coc etc. But you can't apply for indian coc exam if you're an open CDC holder guys. (It's may change according to DG lataest rule so pls check it before apply anywhere)
